NPI - Operational Excellence

At Nipro Pharmapackaging International, our mission is to be the preferred and trusted partner to pharmaceutical companies around the globe to safely deliver parenteral medicines to patients. 

Over the past year, we have made significant strides in our "Nipro Pharmapacking International Operational Excellence Strategy", and it's time to acknowledge the dedication and collaboration that have brought us closer to our goals.

Operational Excellence is more than just a strategy; it's a way of working, rooted in the Toyota Management principles of lean production. Our approach focuses on three key pillars: People, Process, and Technology. By honing these areas, we aim to make our work easier, our workplace safer, and our products of the highest quality - all while reducing lead times and costs, and improving service to our customers.

Since its inception in 2022, the Operational Excellence initiative has rapidly grown into a vital part of our culture at Nipro Pharmapacking International. The fruits of this labor were evident at our recent Operational Excellence group meeting in Germany, where for the second time, our entire global team came together to share insights and celebrate progress. This gathering reinforced our commitment to fostering shorter lead times, stable processes, and the highest efficiency across all our sites.

NPI Operational Excellence

Our journey wouldn't be possible without the exceptional contributions of many individuals. A special acknowledgment goes to Krešimir Sečak, Global Production Director and General Manager in Croatia, who has been a driving force behind this initiative. The Global Operational Excellence team, including Mehryar Zarepour for Tubing Plants and Valerija Jedvajić for Converting, has provided invaluable leadership and guidance. We also extend our gratitude to Alfredo Guerrero, Technology Council Coordinator, and our local Operational Excellence Coordinators and Plant/Production Managers who have each played a crucial role in implementing these strategies on the ground. Furthermore, the support from our leadership has been instrumental in our success.

As Krešimir Sečak, Global Production and Operations Excellence Director, remarked, “We developed Nipro Operational Excellence Methodology as a tool to establish a culture of continuous improvements, to become a world-class manufacturing company, but also to increase collaboration across different Nipro Pharmapacking International sites and promote the One NIPRO culture. We are really impressed by the speed of development of Nipro Operational Excellence on all our sites, the improvement examples that were presented during our conference in Germany, and we are looking forward to seeing more exciting developments in the coming years. From this year, our colleagues from the BIWAKO Plant in Japan will fully join Nipro Pharmapacking International Operational Excellence activities, and we are sure that we will be able to learn a lot from them.

As we move forward, our vision is clear: to make Nipro Operational Excellence our standard way of working across all Nipro Pharmapacking International sites.

By standardizing processes, leveraging technology, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we aim to achieve world-class manufacturing status and become the most agile and competitive company in the industry.
